Ida stands in the kitchen, stirring slowly with a wooden spoon in the pot. She is cooking chicken vindaloo, a first, and Tiffany is sitting on the counter right by the stove. Tiffany kicks at her leg, not hard at all, more like she doesn't even think of that she's doing it. She talks about the latest round of boy problems she has, as boy crazy as ever if she denies it with a "I'm grown up now" and laughing merrily. Ida laughs with her.
"Hey," says someone and Ida would recognise that voice anywhere. She twists around, letting go of the spoon in her hand. Tiffany shrieks as a drop of the sauce splatters onto her light pink top.
"Amber, what are you doing here?"
"Henry told me you were over, and I felt like eating today," Amber replies. She sits down on a chair after she waves to Tiffany, who smiles and waves back. "Sulli is so mad she doesn't have the time to come."
Ida returns to the pot and lowers the heat of the stove, laughing when Tiffany says, "There wouldn't been enough food for her anyway" in return to Amber.
Amber laughs too, but throws a stray sock she found on the chair at Tiffany who shrieks again as she hits it away. Ida is about to scold the youngest of the girls when someone else asks, "Hey now, what are you doing?"
Zhou Mi stands in the doorway, arms crossed. His expression is serious but his voice and eyes playful, and in response Amber grins innocently and winningly. Tiffany however turns on the puppy eyes and wails "Oppa", even goes as far as jump off the counter and grab his sleeve. She looks up at him, pouting when she says, "Zhou Mi-oppa, Amber's being mean to me."
"You have to be nicer when visiting," he says seriously, looking into Amber's eyes before he looks back to Tiffany. She beams at him, and sits down on the chair across the table from Amber. He sits down next to her.
"Your English is getting better," Amber says. She's still grinning. Ida sighs when Zhou Mi grins back and then looks at her for confirmation. She offers him a smile as she lifts the pot off of the stove, places it on the trivet — she's going to shout that the food's ready when she sees that Henry's already sitting by the table, next to Amber. He smiles and tries to waggle his eyebrows at her.
"I've got a boyfriend, Lau," she says.
"Did anyone like, uh, tell Jungmo that it's dinner?" Tiffany asks. Zhou Mi, Henry and Amber all look at each other and then up at Ida. They all start shaking their heads.
